Win a travel scholarship to attend the ACS Leadership/Advocacy Summit, March 28-31, 2020, Washington, DC

The Tennessee Chapter is pleased to announce the availability of a travel scholarship for Fellows to attend the 2020 ACS Leadership / Advocacy Summit (LAS). From the generosity of members of the Tennessee Chapter, we announce the creation of a competition for a $1750 travel scholarship for a trip to Washington, DC!

This award will be a competition focused on our Young Fellow Members encouraging them to get engaged and participate in the activities of the Chapter. The applicant must write a short statement (less than 250 words) on why a trip to attend the ACS Leadership / Advocacy Summit will improve his/her practice of surgery and stimulate participation in the Tennessee Chapter.

The funds must be used to support the registration fee, airline fare, meals, and hotel costs for the applicant. There will be a requirement for the winning applicant to attend the 2020 Tennessee Chapter meeting in Memphis and give a report on the benefits of this award to the recipient. There will be an additional $500 award to defray expense of attending the August 7-9, 2020 Chapter meeting to give the report.

All Fellows are eligible, but there will be preference to Young Fellows (age 45 and younger) in all practice settings to apply for this scholarship.

The deadline for application is October 15, 2019.
