Call to Action – Stop Medicare Cuts Effective January 1st
As a surgeon advocate within your state, the ACS Division of Advocacy and Health Policy (DAHP) needs your immediate assistance to contact Congress and urge immediate action regarding a critical, time sensitive ACS advocacy priority. As you may know, finalized policies from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will result in substantial cuts to physician payment for most surgical services delivered to Medicare patients beginning in January of 2021. If implemented, these policies could also destabilize health system financing and drastically diminish the opportunity for hospital and physician offices to recover financially from COVID-19. To help supplement ACS advocacy efforts and publicly respond to this critical issue with a united voice, the ACS created the Surgical Care Coalition.
On behalf of the Executive Council of the TN Chapter, ACS, I ask that you contact Congress via SurgeonsVoice so lawmakers understand the impact that these drastic cuts will have on physician payment for surgical services provided to Medicare patients.
Thank you in advance for advocating on behalf of yourself and your profession by taking action on this critical issue.
