The Tennessee Chapter, American College of Surgeons, strives to serve as an advocate for patients and surgeons.

The Chapter . . .
* Works with the Tennessee Medical Association and specialty medical societies in promoting legislation and regulations that support the ethical practice of surgery and quality patient care

* Educates legislators and other policy makers about reimbursement issues, workforce issues, and problems with patient access

* Continues to work toward tort reform in TN

* Monitors legislative activity

* Supports maintaining the helmet law

* Advocates repeal of UPPL and expansion of the Good Samaritan law
